Fully-managed Covid-19 testing programme launched for businesses

AlphaBiolabs, a UKAS-accredited and award-winning testing laboratory based in Cheshire, has just announced its fully managed Covid-19 testing programme for businesses.

The UK-wide service is unique in that it offers an end-to-end testing programme for organisations that want to outsource their workplace testing requirements.

A sample collection service can be implemented on your own premises using AlphaBiolabs’ own UK network of professional clinicians.

You can choose to use the rapid lateral flow Covid-19 antigen test for immediate results, or take advantage of AlphaBiolabs’ dedicated, purpose-built PCR testing facility.

PCR testing is seen as the ‘gold standard’ in Covid testing and same-day results are available if required.

Rachel Davenport, Director at AlphaBiolabs, said: “We are already a well-established and highly-respected provider of drug and alcohol testing services to the workplace.  Our in-house Covid-19 laboratory means that we can now expand our offering to any business that wants help in implementing a robust Covid testing regime.

“We are delighted that a number of large enterprises have already signed up for the fully managed service, but we can flex and tailor our service to create a bespoke package for any company’s particular requirements.

“For example, some businesses want to test their staff before they start work each day.  Others want to test weekly or at other regular intervals.  Some companies want to use our sample collection service, whilst others are happy to oversee the tests themselves.  Some only want to use lateral flow tests, others prefer the PCR tests, and some opt to do a blend of the two.”

AlphaBiolabs also provides the extremely popular lateral flow tests as individually packaged kits or as boxes of kits.

The individually packaged kits are especially suitable for businesses with staff based at different locations.  These self-contained kits include everything necessary to take one person’s sample.  The boxes of kits are suitable for employers based at one site.  These kits are not individually packaged and contain large bottles of buffer solution to be allocated across all kits, but obviously come with a cost advantage.

Testing your staff for Covid-19 is an effective way of protecting the health of your employees and your bottom line, reducing absenteeism, and maintaining productivity and profitability.
