DriveTech launches educational video explaining new HSE guidance
DriveTech, part of the AA and the UK’s leading driver training provider, has launched an educational video explaining the new Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance on driving and riding for work.
Clarifying what the new guidance will mean for UK businesses, the video outlines the HSE’s updates following recent changes in employment and mobility – including developments in vehicle technology, vehicle condition, traffic and time pressures.
In addition, the video also highlights considerations which may affect drivers on a regular basis, such as health and wellbeing.
With the HSE’s updated and expanded guidance impacting all businesses with employees that drive for work, including commuting to a workplace, DriveTech created the video to help employers meet their legal and duty of care responsibilities.
Keeping drivers safe is the ultimate aim of the HSE guidance and DriveTech is urging businesses to put driver safety first and not to look overlook the grey fleet.
Jennifer Morris, head of commercial development at DriveTech, commented: “We pride ourselves on providing businesses with the advice and knowledge to make their drivers safer on the road.
“The new HSE guidance affects everyone who drives for business and, while the new information could cause confusion, our team has addressed and simplified the key messages in an engaging, informative and concise fashion.
“It’s vital that businesses take note of the crucial new information and the responsibilities they have to their employees who drive or ride for work and that includes the grey fleet. Employers can’t afford to overlook the safety of drivers who travel for work whatever the circumstance.”
