An urgent appeal – warehouse space needed

September 22, 2021 CILT 0

As you may be aware the UK has recently evacuated several thousand Afghan families. These people are currently in the process of being resettled into their new lives.

The UK public has been enormously generous in its support for these individuals and their families, with significant donations of clothing, nappies, blankets, toys, educational items, etc. to support the initial few months of life in a new country. This is being stored in multiple locations throughout the UK which presents a challenging picture when it comes to ensuring that the donations can be accurately distributed to the right place at the right time to meet the urgent need.

The Voluntary and Community Sector Emergencies Partnership who are coordinating the relief effort at a national level now most urgently require a centrally coordinated space to enable existing and future donations to be accurately managed, sorted and distributed effectively.

They are requesting if any CILT members own or are aware of any large warehouses, aircraft hangars, vacant department stores, or large buildings located within the UK which are suitable for storage and processing of the donations, ideally from 10,000up to 100,000 sq.ft.

If so, please contact:
